Watch for me in July…

I thought maybe promotions were slowing down for the summer, boy was I wrong. Next week, Wednesday July 7th, I’ll be on KSCW Cable Channel 5, at 8:48 AM for my 3 minutes of fame. I’ll get to talk about Feisty Family Values, which is way cool! I hope you’ll tune in. And if you own a DVR and I don’t fumble too much, please record it for me.

Sunday July 18, I am the guest blogger on http://savvyauthors.com. I’ll be blogging about “interviewing” so I hope you’ll check it out. My deadline is next weekend, so I’d better get busy!

Thursday July 22nd, I’ll be visiting the Sedgwick Senior Center at the Old Baptists Church in Sedgwick, KS at 7:00 PM. I’m looking forward to talking about Feisty Family Values as well as the writing and editing process. If you’re in the neighborhood, drop by.

There are three more events in June, besides the Wichita Professional Communicators luncheon that I spoke to on Wednesday.

Barnes & Noble, Bradley Fair is having a Group Author Signing, June 12, from 2-5:00 PM. If you’re in the area, please stop by and say hello. I’m not sure how many writers will be there, but it’ll be fun to find out and see what great books you can buy to read or give as gifts.

I’ll be speaking to the residents at the Highland House on Monday, June 21st at 6:00 PM.

The 4th Annual Author Extravaganza is June 26th at Town Crier in Emporia from 11-1:00 PM. This event will have more than 50 Kansas authors participating, so take a drive to see who all is in attendance. I believe I know a few of the authors that will be there: TM Hunter, Candance Gilmer, Donna Dilsaver, Kathy Prichett. I’m looking forward to seeing my fellow writers, but it’s you the readers that matter most. So, come on over and visit with us!

Library Visits this week…

We had a great group of people at the Newton Public Library tonight to listen and ask about Feisty Family Values. I also talked about my writing process and the publishing experience. They asked me to read, so I gave them a glimpse into the lives of the three main characters (Regina, Tillie & Annabelle) who reside in the Riverside area of Wichita. There were several writers in the group and one of those attending was a teacher at Riverside Elementary. They had lots of questions and I hope I answered them all. I certainly enjoyed myself and several people took home signed copies of Feisty Family Values. I hope they had as much fun as I did.

Thursday night I’ll be at the Derby Library to speak. I’ll spend the first 1/2 hour (6:00 PM) with the library reading group and anticipate lots of comments from them, because I think they all have read Feisty Family Values by now. It’ll be open to the public after that and I’ll do a reading and signing as well. I’m looking forward to seeing all you Derby and South Wichita folks, so come on down!

I’m proud to announce that the Cowley County Writers Guild is hosting a reading and signing of Feisty Family Values for me, Thursday at 6:30 PM at the Arkansas City Public Library, 120 East Fifth Avenue in Arkansas City.

Carol says there will be refreshments, so how can you lose? Free food and free entertainment! No, I don’t do the soft shoe, but I’ll be reading from Feisty Family Values and talking about the writing and editing process. There will be time for questions, too, so come on down!

Welcome to Spring

I love spring and this one is even more fun than the ones before. There are several Feisty Family Values readings & signings scheduled for area libraries, so I hope you’ll come to one and participate in the discussions about the writing process as well as Feisty Family Values. If you’ve bought a book and would like it signed by the author, bring it along. If you haven’t bought your copy yet and would like to I’ll have some with me for sale (and signature). I’m looking forward to seeing you soon!

Wordfest Writer’s Conference…

WordFest 2010 happens next weekend, April 16 & 17 in McPherson. To take advantage of the early-bird rate, simply postmark your registration by the 10th, or call 620-241-8464 between 1 – 5p.m. Friday and Saturday to pay by credit card.

Saturday, I will be conducting a workshop, Magazine Writing 101, for those non-fiction writers out there that are interested. I’ll also be on a panel to discuss publishing later in the afternoon.

There are other great speakers like Karen Stolz, Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, Jerry Engler, Bill Sheldon, Steven Hind and Denise Low-Wesco. So, I hope you’ll join us at the McPherson Opera House and Museum, it should be a great time.

Book Signing Saturday – April 3

Hey Everybody,

I’ll be signing books and visiting with readers this Saturday (April 3) from 1-3:00 PM at Border’s West location (21st and Maize). I have candy and “feisty” buttons for those that come out to see me. It’s great fun and you can always get a latte while you’re there. That’s incentive, right, coffee – chocolate – a great new book. What a deal!

I’d love to see you and it’s supposed to be a great day. So while you’re out enjoying the sunshine, stop by. I’ll save a copy of Feisty Family Values for you!

Mother Nature…

So what do you do on a day when the weather is snowy or rainy? Go to your favorite bookstore! I’ll be hanging out at Barnes & Noble in Bradley Fair tomorrow from 2-5:00, so come on buy and we’ll talk about books and drink coffee.

And for those who brave the weather and buy a copy of Feisty Family Values – you get some chocolate, a “feisty” pin and your book autographed by the author. I’m looking forward to seeing all you brave souls tomorrow. Be careful out there and don’t worry, any snow will no doubt be gone by Monday.

Tonight: Reading & Signing

I hope to see lots of familiar faces as well as new ones tonight at my FIRST ever reading and signing for Feisty Family Values. Those of you that know me well know that I am very excited. This truly is a dream come true. I remember 2-3 years ago talking to Beth Golay at Watermark during a big book sale. I told her that someday I wanted to be reading and signing my own novel in their store. Tonight, the dream comes true.

I’m bringing “Feisty” pins for all those feisty people that come. It’s a pretty good hair day and hopefully my tongue will stay untied. Thanking you all for your support.
