Blog Interview & Writing Process
January 20th, 2010 | Published in Blog
I hope you will all visit Penny Ehrenkranz’s blogspot and read my interview and her review of Feisty Family Values. This is my first blog interview and I’m pleased with how it went. She had some interesting questions about my writing process as well as about the story.
The writing process is different for every writer. Sometimes it differs for me – how? There are times when the white computer screen seems to loom over me and I don’t know where to start. Those days I pull out a notebook and pen and just start jotting down ideas, brainstorming, snippets of dialog, whatever comes to mind. It generally wakes the muse up and away the story goes again. Then when I transcribe my notes to the computer file I’ll tweak it and add to it if it needs it.
I prefer writing on my laptop, though. I can type a lot faster than I can write long hand. The gals at the Border’s Cafe probably know my order by heart now. It’s fun to hang out there and type away on my story. Being surrounded by books and the hum of conversation is soothing. Hours feel like minutes and words just flow. A latte helps, too.
