My muse today was inspired by Dark Chocolate.  She said to “believe in yourself” and to “enjoy life’s every day gifts.”  Sage advice indeed.  Now let’s spin it toward the writing side of life – believing in yourself is a must.  Writing is too hard of a business to take it lightly.  You have to believe that after all your hard work you will achieve your goal, whatever that may be.

As for enjoying life’s every day gifts – I see the day-to-day experiences as fuel for the story. Feelings and obstacles we all face make the story real.  So, when the muse gives you an interesting character in the guise of a clerk at the grocery store or the drive up window at lunch, take note, smile, and remember them for later, when you sit down to write.
